So, I haven't been blogging like I intended to. I have been putting in almost sixty hours a week at work. I have been reading though. I keep meaning to review books, but haven't. And I keep beating myself up about. Thinking that I am not a good enough writer to do decent reviews, but really who are these reviews for? Am I going to be criticized by some unknown internet hierarchy? Is there some blogging committee that will take down my blog if my review isn't perfect? Or is my blog and my reviews just for me? Something that I started so that I could share the books that I love with the world. Does it matter if I can't write more than a few paragraphs saying what makes a book special to me? With my new philosophy I am going to write what I want to write not what I think others want me to write. I love books. I think others should know about these books. Nothing makes me happier than hearing someone talk about a book that they wouldn't have ever read before.
Last year I started playing audio books out loud in the office. I made sure nobody objected to it, and I got one co worker hooked on a series that they have now listened further in it than I have.
The privilege of listening out loud was taken from us, but they got their own audiobooks site and brought in some headphones and completed the series. That has made my year.
I guess the point of this post is that this blog is for me. The posts in it should make me happy, and if I get one person to read (or listen to) something that they wouldn't have before, it will all be worth it.
